Start with groove count, finish with the complete model
SPA pulley selection becomes easier when visible features are used in the right order. Groove count is a practical first filter because it can be confirmed on the installed drive or drawing, but it does not define the complete pulley. The individual model page is where P, O, construction type, taper-bush designation, maximum bore and the letter dimensions are kept together.
For replacement work, keep the pulley marking, belt section, shaft and bush information attached to the same record. For a new drive, begin from the required speed relationship, shaft interface and installation envelope before choosing a diameter.

Open a groove-count family to compare the available models. Each family page links directly to the model-level technical data rather than creating thin diameter-only pages.
Four checks that prevent most specification errors
1. Belt and grooves
Confirm the SPA belt family and the number of active V-grooves. Do not substitute a timing-belt or another V-belt profile because the outside appearance seems similar.
2. Diameter references
Keep P and O separate. A field outside-diameter measurement is useful, but it should not silently replace a catalogue diameter reference.
3. Shaft interface
Confirm the taper-bush designation, actual shaft diameter and keyway requirement. Maximum bore describes a limit; it is not automatically the ordered bore.
4. Construction type
Use the construction type and the matching technical view when hub position, axial clearance or letter dimensions affect installation.
Keep the shaft connection in the same decision record
A pulley can match the groove count and diameter yet still be wrong for the machine if the shaft interface is different. Record the bush designation, shaft diameter, keyway and available axial space before releasing the purchase request.
When a replacement is already removed, photographs taken before disassembly can help preserve belt-line and hub-position context that is otherwise easy to lose.
